ICT Education:Take 5 and let's learn
Try to use
your neighbor WiFi's signal?
but the signal is poor..? Do you notice that as you go farther away from the
router, the throughput you achieve will decrease? What are the causes? Let’s
learn something about the relationship between range and throughput.
Guys, please be noted that besides the the router's capability itself, Walls, floors, and
large metal objects are the most common sources of interference with wireless
signals. So here some simple tips to improve your signal;
- Move the device closer to the router. Throughput decreases as device moves farther away from router.
- Install wireless range extender, a wireless range extender is a device that amplifies your wireless signal to get it out to parts of your home that are experiencing poor connectivity.
- Repositioning the node within the same room or to other rooms in your house can affect communication between nodes. (in case you didn't share your neighbor's WiFi he.. he)
Well guys, hope this
short break could help you to learn a little about the relationship between
the distance, and the
objects that could affect the actual throughput supplied by the router. He..He.. Bye
